Canada's casino hotels: independent reviews and our 2026 top 10

Planning a night, or three, at a casino resort? We rate Canada's casino hotels the way a getaway actually unfolds — the room you sleep in, the floor you play on, where you eat, what's on stage, the pool or spa for the morning after, and how painless the trip there is. Every figure is taken from the hotel itself or from a source we name, together with the date we last checked it.

How the scores work

Six criteria, each with its own weight: what you sleep in and look out at counts most, then the casino floor and the restaurants, then shows, pool and spa, and last how easy the place is to reach. Facts come from the hotel itself or from a source we name. The full method is here.

Good to know before you book

Which casino hotel in Canada is the best?

On our scoring, the winner is Niagara Falls' Fallsview Casino Resort: 372 rooms designed for the view, a 5,000-seat OLG Stage, 110 tables and 3,200-plus slots, and more than 20 restaurants.

Which Canadian casino hotel opened most recently?

That's Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Ottawa — 150 rooms, opened on July 3, 2025. The title previously belonged to Great Canadian Casino Resort Toronto, whose hotel welcomed its first guests on August 1, 2023.

How old do you need to be to enter a Canadian casino?

Eighteen in Alberta, Manitoba and Québec; nineteen everywhere else we cover, including Ontario, British Columbia and New Brunswick.

Can I bring children to a casino hotel?

Mostly, yes. The age rule is about the gaming floor plus some bars and venues, not the hotel rooms. Hard Rock Ottawa is the big exception: there, nobody under 19 may enter any part of the property.
