Casino getaways in British Columbia's Lower Mainland
Revised — hotel facts re-read
Two Lower Mainland casino hotels, and they couldn't be less alike. A few rules to know before you travel: BCLC runs the casinos while the Independent Gambling Control Office supervises; you must be nineteen; and from June 2023 everyone at the door shows government photo ID, compared against a list of people barred from entering.

Off the plane and onto the train — check-in in under half an hour. Here's a getaway that starts at the airport gate: ride the Canada Line about seven minutes from YVR to Bridgeport and you're at the door (downtown Vancouver is roughly eighteen minutes the other way). Waiting inside: 396 rooms, some remarkable suites, Canada's first Gordon Ramsay Steak and a pool with a slide, with a marina on the river outside.
You'll love it if…A stopover on either side of a YVR flight, a weekend built around good restaurants, or a trip without a car at all.
Look elsewhere if…You're chasing a stadium-sized concert; The Show Theatre holds 965.

Steak, slots and an early night in Langley City. A modest getaway: Gateway's round-the-clock Cascades casino in Langley City, where the Coast hotel next door offers 77 rooms, a satisfying steak at ATLAS and parking that costs nothing. Just don't pack a swimsuit or hope for a show.
You'll love it if…A Fraser Valley evening — dinner at ATLAS, then a while on the gaming floor.
Look elsewhere if…A swim or a show is part of your plan; there's no pool and no theatre.
