A getaway at Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Ottawa
Revised — hotel facts re-read
The newest address in our guide threw open its doors on July 3, 2025, and Hard Rock describes it as the first resort in Canada to bring its hotel, casino and venue together completely — rooms, casino and concert hall under one roof. Settle into one of 150 rooms (22 are suites), book Council Oak for dinner, catch a show at Hard Rock LIVE (up to 2,200) and play any hour among 1,500-plus slots. Everyone must be 19, hotel guests included.

No partner here: the reservation button takes you to the hotel's booking page and earns us nothing.
You'll love it if…Friends or couples who want a steak dinner, a band and a casino that's still going at dawn.
Look elsewhere if…Anyone in the group is 18 or younger — even the hotel corridors are off limits to them.
The essentials
The short version
Before anything else, know the rule: you can't enter any part of this property under 19 — not the hotel, not the restaurants. Everything else is new. Where the Rideau Carleton casino once stood, $350 million has produced a resort that opened on 3 July 2025 and that Hard Rock describes as the first fully integrated one of its kind in Canada; Hard Rock International operates it on behalf of OLG.
Which room to book
Of 150 rooms, 22 are suites. The standard Deluxe King or Deluxe Queen measures 389 sq ft (up to four people fit in the Queen). Both the Silver Suite and the Gold Suite give you a living area, and the Gold adds a bar space and a freestanding tub. If you love music, ask for "Sound of Your Stay" to have a guitar delivered and pick records from a curated vinyl list.
At the tables
The casino never closes, any day of the year. On the floor: more than 1,500 slot machines, tables that never close — blackjack, roulette, craps, mini baccarat and others — a newly built baccarat room, and VIP high-limit areas. Unity by Hard Rock is the loyalty card — Star, Legend and Icon tiers, plus X by invitation — and it lowers what you pay for valet and the shuttle.
Showtime
Headliners play Hard Rock LIVE, a 23,000 sq ft room with up to 1,900 seats and a 2,200 maximum. Smaller gigs go to The Joint (25 to 400 people). Not every night needs a ticket — Friday and Saturday bring free live sets to the Council Oak Lounge, and cover bands and tribute acts play the Hard Rock Cafe without a charge at the door.
Eating in
For a memorable dinner, it's Council Oak Steaks & Seafood, whose original is at the Seminole Hard Rock in Florida; come back on Sunday between 10 and 3 for brunch. Casual meals are covered by the Hard Rock Cafe, YOUYU Noodle Bar and Brick'd Italian Kitchen, and coffee is available 24/7 at Constant Grind in the Marketplace.
Downtime and parking
Body Rock, the gym, is fitted with Technogym equipment and opens to your room key around the clock. No pool appears among the amenities the hotel publishes, so don't plan on a swim. Valet never closes; Icon and X members pay nothing, Legend $10, Star $15 and everyone else $20. Two EV chargers are on site.
Getting in
Ottawa's airport is only about two miles off. Without a car, take the O-Train to Uplands or Leitrim, then the resort shuttle — five dollars a ride (Unity members $3.50), card or tap only. Harness racing at the neighbouring raceway wrapped up in March 2026.
The getaway verdict
The newest rooms around Ottawa and the best live-music calendar of any casino hotel its size: perfect for couples or a group of friends, and simply off-limits to families.
