A getaway at Fallsview Casino Resort

Revised — hotel facts re-read

This is the weekend most Canadians imagine when they hear “casino hotel”: mist rising past the window, dinner a lift ride away and a headline act on the OLG Stage. Behind the view sit 372 rooms, a casino floor of some 200,000 sq ft with 3,200-plus slots and 110 tables, two theatres and more than twenty places to eat.

You'll love it if…Couples who want the whole weekend in one place — a view to linger over, a big-name concert and a long evening downstairs.
Look elsewhere if…Your idea of a treat is a buffet (there isn't one at present), or young children will want the pool without you in it.

The short version

Plenty of casino hotels offer a bed close to the tables. Fallsview sells you the view, and it's the one property in Canada where what you see from bed is the headline. Here, the resort tells us, every one of the 372 rooms and suites was designed with a view in mind — the Horseshoe Falls, the American Falls, the city lights, or more than one of them. Below them sits a 200,000 sq ft casino with 110 tables and upward of 3,200 slots, and the same complex adds two theatres and 20-plus restaurants. Park on Friday and you won't need the keys again until Sunday.

Which room to book

Start with the window. A Deluxe room looks over the city, the American Falls or Horseshoe Falls, and three bed set-ups: a king, two queens or two doubles. Desk and sitting area, safe, coffee maker, iron and hairdryer are standard. Read the resort's FAQ before you click "book": it admits that a falls-facing room may take in both waterfalls or a single one. If that view is the whole reason for the trip, pay for the right category and ask the hotel to note it on your booking.

Want more room? Five suite types. Parlour: American Falls outlook, pull-out sofa, extra TV. Executive: bedroom closed off, partial view of the falls. Diplomat: wraps around the tower's curved face, panoramic falls or city view, whirlpool tub. Then the grand pair, Ambassador and Premier, each with a bedroom of its own facing the water; the Premier goes further with a dining room, a sitting room and a bathroom built for lingering.

Timing: rooms are ready at 4 pm and must be vacated by 11 am; in-room dining takes orders 7–11 am and again 6–11 pm.

At the tables

Bring ID — the floor is strictly 19+ — and leave the stroller upstairs: babies in arms aren't allowed on the floor either. Drinks are poured at the Infinity Bar from 9 am until 1:50 am. Sign up for Momentum, Mohegan's programme, before you arrive; the free Core tier gets you in, and Ignite — the next rung, followed by Leap, Ascend and Soar — unlocks free casino parking. Everybody below Ignite pays the day's posted rate, which is where a Fallsview weekend quietly gets pricier.

Showtime

This is Fallsview's trump card. The OLG Stage fits 5,000 people, yet the resort says nobody sits beyond 150 feet, and it quotes Billboard ranking the venue number one in Canada for its size band (2,501–5,000). The second room, the Avalon Theatre, seats 1,559, all within 100 feet of the stage. Between them, the resort promotes upward of 320 shows a year. Coming in December? According to Niagara Falls Tourism, Christmas On Ice returns to the Avalon for a 14th season, with 32 performances between November 26 and December 20, 2026.

Eating in

For the special dinner, choose between the two restaurants OpenTable put on its 2026 list of the top fifty in hotels — Italian at Ponte Vecchio, or steak and seafood at 21 Club. For something quicker, there's sushi and oysters at the Sushi & Oyster Bar, Cantonese cooking at Golden Lotus, bowls at the Noodle Bar, sandwiches at The Falls Deli, and Bar Barista, a café by day that turns into a cocktail bar in the evening. The Galleria adds more: Shoeless Joe's, Paramount Fine Foods, Vittorio's, Lucky's and a taproom from Niagara Brewing Company. Note that the resort runs no buffet at present, and that Dragonfly, its nightclub of almost 20 years, is closing; a new concept has been promised without a name so far.

Downtime

Swim between 7 am and 10 pm; you'll need a daily pool key, and anyone under 12 swims only with a parent. The gym keeps shorter hours, 7 am–9 pm. For a treatment, Damara Day Spa is on site — one tourism ticket site lists its relaxation massage at $158.

Arriving and parking

Toronto is an hour and a half away by the resort's count, Buffalo three-quarters of an hour, and Pearson airport about 125 km. Without a car, take a weekend or holiday GO train from Union Station to Niagara Falls. Weekends and OLG Stage nights bring a complimentary loop bus to Casino Niagara and back, leaving every thirty minutes between four in the afternoon and a quarter to one. Arriving by car? The garage swallows more than 3,000 vehicles and has ten chargers for electric ones — four on P1, six up on P5. Only certified service animals are permitted.

The getaway verdict

If you'll only ever do one Canadian casino-hotel weekend, do it here, and spend the extra on a falls-facing category rather than taking whatever's cheapest. Check what's on stage before fixing dates, and join Momentum ahead of time if you're driving — otherwise parking eats into the budget.

Questions before you go

Is a falls view guaranteed at Fallsview?

Only when you book a falls-view category, and even then the resort's FAQ warns that one cascade may be in sight rather than both. Some rooms look over the city instead, so ask for confirmation when you reserve.

Where's the buffet at Fallsview?

There isn't one running for now — the resort's dining page says so.

Would Fallsview suit a family weekend?

It would. Children can roam everywhere except the 19+ gaming floor; at the pool, anyone under twelve needs a parent alongside.
